You can be in business for yourself part time or full time with this business. You can go to mobile home and trailer parks and specialize in the painting of mobile homes and trailers in the parks. You can get a lot or work if you target mobile home parks, they are full of mobile homes that need painting. If you drive thru one, and look at some of the homes in mobile home parks, you will notice lots of them need to be painted. Most of them are made out of metal, and it gets pretty hot compared to wood.
You would also be surprised to know that, there are probably a lot more mobile home parks in your area, than you really think there is. If you do a search on the internet for mobile home parks, in your area, a lot should pop up on your search. A lot of mobile home parks these days are for people 55 years old, or older. I found that when I was painting in a mobile home park with senior citizens 55 and older, that when I was out painting, a lot of folks would go for walks thru their mobile home parks, and come by and see me painting. They would ask me for an estimate on their mobile home, and the word of mouth advertising just took off.
You will have plenty of work painting, when you make up a flyer, and give one to each person you. You could also send out your flyer to mobile home dealers, mobile home sellers, mobile home and trailer maintenance supply places, mobile home movers, since all of these people are essentially in the mobile home business. They will be the ones asked by mobile home owners, or buyers, if they know anyone who paints mobile homes, and they can give them your number. It is also good to send each manager of the mobile home parks one of your flyers, so they can post it on their bulletin boards, usually in the laundry rooms, or recreation rooms so the tenants can see what’s going on.
Always make sure you mail out a new batch of flyers on a regular basis, so people in the mobile home business will remember your name and number, and eventually send you more business. Later on, you can have others painting for you, while you drive around and check on their work. Mobile homes can be painted by 1 person in 2 to 3 days, so you could really get a lot of work lined up.
